Be You...

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken" by Oscar Wilde.
Apparently, Oscar Wilde said this, but then he's not around for us to ask. I subscribe to Arnie Schwarzenegger's Weekly Newsletter and he recently commented that he hasn't said half the things that have been attributed to him.
How do we know our own perspectives and the filters we view the world through are balanced?
Last week I viewed a situation through a filter that was tinged with a lack of self-confidence in a given situation. I then started to build a story in my mind, and that grew, at speed. A message came in this week from someone else's perspective and it completely shifted my view. The kind words gifted me pause for thought and a chance to reflect and I realised my filter needed a polish.
It is natural to view things from our own frame of reference. Years of experience and life can build up on the window in our frame, obscuring the view and tinging new events with debris from the past.
We are all a gloriously imperfect work in progress; learning, polishing our windows, shifting our perspectives, and trusting that we are doing our best in any given moment.
Be you.
